The Brandywine Rug Hooking Guild is a non-profit guild open to rug hooking enthusiasts for the purpose of promoting and enjoying rug hooking. We seek to educate and encourage anyone with interest in order to raise awareness of this traditional art form. Most members come from or near the Brandywine Valley of Southeastern Pennsylvania. We are a chapter of the Association of Traditional Hooking Artists (ATHA), http://www.atharugs.com/
The guild also sponsors a number of workshops and other events for its members. Our most recent workshop was with Judy Carter, who taught her marvelous giraffe rug. Other teachers we have sponsored include Elizabeth Black. Karl Gimber, Norma Bastastini, and Cynthia Norwood. Nonmembers are also welcome to register for these classes if there are openings. We also host a hook-in each October.
