May 13, 2023 An OPEN HOUSE was held to encourage those interested in an introduction to rug hooking to come and see what we do. Several people we met at our demos earlier in the month stopped in for a hands on hooking experience. These people were invited to sign up for a beginner class to be held June 17

Sheep and Wool Day at Springton Manor Farm was a fun opportunity for the guild to bring hooking to the community. We had rugs on display, and meeting information available. We actively promoted our upcoming Introduction to Rug Hooking and encouraged those interested to give hooking a try at one of our frames. There were a lot of enthusiastic children.

Margaret Wenger gave a presentation on hooking with alternatives to wool. Margaret enjoys including a wide range of fabric types including formalwear and bridal fabrics, swim suit material and lots of sparkling, glittery and shiny textures and trims.

Sheep and Wool Day at Springton Manor Farm in Glenmoore, PA 2016
ALI STREIBLE came in June 2015 to teach many hooking stitches and embellishment techniques. This class was open to all TBRHG members and was made possible through our 2011 Biennial ATHA Education Fund.
In April 2015 we had the pleasure of having Bea Brock here. The class was based on techniques and concepts from Bea's "Scrappy Rugs" book.

We had Kay Leisey from Homespun in Hereford, PA come and teach us how to assemble our chocolate rabbits and hooked baskets. All hooking was completed ahead of time and we sewed and stuffed our projects in the workshop. This workshop was open to all members who wished to participate and was sponsored through our ATHA Education Fund.
In July 2013 We had SusanFeller copme for three days. She taught us all lessons based on her book "Elements of Design" It was an intesnse 3 days where we began with simple drawing exercised and ended up with a completed design. Some were even able to start hooking their own designs.
Below are a few pictures from our July 2012 summer class with Lucille Festa. Lucille comes to us from Vermont and is the owner of American Country Rugs. This class was held at The Fairfield Inn in Exton, PA.
